Frequently Asked Questions

If these don’t help, please feel free to send us an e-mail, we’d be happy to answer any inquiry you may have.

Q: What makes your products different from all the others?
A: Most importantly, they are Certified Organic, and very fresh.  We distill Essential Oils and Hydrosols in small batches using traditional equipment.  Great care is taken to ensure temperatures are low and the nutrients remain intact.  We are not making industrial batches or trying to force the most oil out of the plant material. We love and believe in what we are doing, and think of our Distillers as Master Craftsmen.  The other ingredients used to produce our products are very fresh and kept in optimum conditions to keep their integrity.

Q: Why use Organic instead of non, does it really make that much difference?
A: It makes a huge difference.  Organic farmers don’t use chemical pesticides and handle their crops with more care.  When Essential Oils are distilled if they have pesticides the residues remain, and we put them on our skin.  Also, evidence suggests that pesticides harm the soil making it less effective at giving the plants all their vitamins and minerals. We’ve all heard, we need to eat 10 green peppers today to get the vitamins we did from 1, from 40 years ago.

Q: I’m allergic to everything I try, what do you suggest for my skin.
A: The simplest skin care is best, with the least ingredients.  That way you can eliminate items that can aggravate your allergies.  I would start with the Balancing Serum, you can use it as you would a lotion.  All our products are very pure and gentle, however some people who have ragweed allergies have trouble with certain essential oils (like Chamomile).  The complete ingredient list is included with the descriptions of the products on our site.

Q: Why don’t you use preservatives in your products?
A:  We do use the natural preservative Grapefruit Seed Extract and Natural Vitamin E (the real thing not the chemical version), we researched extensively and found that the rest are chemicals, chemically isolated naturals, or worse they are derived from urine (i.e. Germall, Urea).  The problem with that, beside the obvious one, is animals whose urine is harvested, have been given antibiotics and hormones.  Traces remain in the product.

Q: I’ve been reading about the importance of maintaining my skins PH levels, and I’m wondering how PH balanced your products are.
A: They are natural ingredients, they allow the skin to maintain its natural PH.  That is, they are PH balanced, even the soap.  This is very important because when we use harsh detergents, (i.e. Sodium Laurel Sulfate) they are extremely alkali and disturb the natural environment of our skin.  After having a simple shower our immune system has to work very hard to restore balance, actually making us vulnerable to our environment.
